A Diehling Devotional

I was buckled into my seat on the airplane, anticipating a wonderful, timely flight home.   None of us was happy with the announcement that we had to de-plane because the door was broken.   It wouldn't seal properly.   A faulty door prohibited our journey.   A malfunction in the door meant our place was no longer secure on the aircraft.  We were delayed because the door failed to provide security.     The excitement of the homebound journey was stolen from us.

I'm so thankful that the eternal journey is in God's hands.   My heavenly seat is secure, knowing that God doesn't just provide any entry or door.  Jesus is the door, the entry, the security, the ark of safety.   If you've entered into life through him, buckle your seat belt and enjoy the journey!

John 10:7-10
So Jesus said to them again, "Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.   "All who came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them.   " I am the door ; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.   "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.
