John 14:6-7:

He wasn’t joking. With his insistent hand motioning to keep following him, we did. Right out onto the golf course. Hole number 9, I think. We drove right across the grass. Right along the fairway. Crazy. Why would we follow him like that? He was winsome and convincing, and he had on the right uniform. He knew the way, he had been that way before, he was genuinely interested in us, and he had the authority to lead us. Hmmmm. Points my heart to Jesus, who said those powerful words, “Follow me.” The Bible is full of God’s invitational hand motions in that regard. I follow Jesus for a lot of reasons, including the truth that He genuinely cares about us, He knows the way, He has been that way, He IS the way, and He has all the authority to get us where we need to go. We found the way that day in My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand.
