So--- check out the moss on these trees.    It was  really cool, looking at the forest as we hiked in the mountains recently.   Moss on trees often means maturity, but certainly indicates moisture.   The trees were big, and they surrounded a beautiful flowing stream heading east toward the sea.

mossy Trees

Perhaps this spot was like the trees Ezekiel saw in his vision of heaven, with the waters symbolic of the gospel of Christ flowing freely with Grace….

Ezek 47:7-8…..”When I arrived there, I saw a great number of trees on each side of the river.   He said to me, ‘This water flows toward the eastern region and goes down into the Arabah, where it enters the Sea.   When it empties into the Sea, the water there becomes fresh.’”

W
hat a great image.  A mature forest along a river, and the water from that spot flowing into a sea transformed into fresh water.    Perhaps that could serve as a great illustration of Christian fellowship.   Huddled and sinking our roots into His Word.   Maturing in Christ together, showing evidence of abundant living waters that bring transforming freshness to the places unto which our ministry and prayers flow.   Even the places beyond our sight.

I pray today that you’re able to drink from the Gospel unto  fresh and living water, with others huddled in prayer and ministry, to impact the world with a fresh touch unto His eternal glory.
As the moss covers ground and living trees, so may your prayers cover the living work of people serving our Lord and King.
