John 14:6a…. “Jesus answered,
"I am the way and the truth and the life.”
When was the last time you used your pointer
finger? To give directions? To scold someone?
To help a friend see a distant star or constellation? To
pass praise on to the Father? Pointing the way to heaven?
My mom tells me that’s what my brother did as he passed into eternity.
One pointer finger would indicate the weight of baby Tirzah, born 3 months premature on the 15th of December. She weighed just over 1 pound, by a few ounces. Her hands are so tiny. I was amazed to see her little pointer finger wiggling steadily in a heavenward direction. She has many people praying for her, calling upon the one to whom she seems to be pointing, the One who is the way, the truth, and the life. I wonder if that is what baby Tirzah is doing with her tiny finger. I’d like to think so----pointing to the source of her help and hope. I prayed Psalm 91 for her today. Ps 91:1-4 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. |
