“With all my resources I have provided for the temple of my God — gold for the gold work, silver for the silver, bronze for the bronze, iron for the iron and wood for the wood, as well as onyx for the settings, turquoise, stones of various colors, and all kinds of fine stone and marble…..” (1 Chron 29:2) I really like the phrase in that passage, “stones of various colors.” We are. “You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood….” (1 Peter 2:5) I was out for a walk and enjoying the beautiful fall colors on the trees, thankful for the various colors of living stones in our church and in our lives. The hillsides were such a wondrous panorama of color, reds and yellows mixed with oranges and golds, accented by shades of green. The scene created a party of praise and worship for my eyes. All the distinct colors standing together were like a picture of unity with diversity. “How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!” (Ps 133:1). The colors together on a hillside declare the glory of God, and so do we. I pray that we can live out the truth of Isaiah 60:21b, “They are the plant I have planted, the work of my own hands to show my greatness.” We are thankful for colorful YOU today. =========
