Eph 4:14-16 “Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.” Kristi and I were headed through the parking lot into Costco on a very windy day to build loving unity in the work of shopping. I watched in awe as she suddenly took off after a shopping cart that was being blown by the wind. I stayed behind to support her in prayer. I was impressed with the enthusiasm she displayed in chasing that lost cart, running it down in the wind, grabbing it before it did any damage, gently guiding it back to the main door. What a great image of the working church. We had a good discussion about that. I want to exercise that same kind of enthusiasm in seeking after people who are being blown about by the winds of our day, offering a stabilizing hand, helping then to find the way home to THE DOOR, and helping them to discover the right things to put in the cart of the heart for a purposeful, full journey. John 10:7-10
“Therefore Jesus said again, ‘I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.’” Would you like to be on the reminder list?
