I took a
trip to headquarters
in Colorado Springs, recently, and it was
beautiful there at
the foot of the Rocky Mountains.
One of the treats was a detour, on the way
to a long day of meetings, early in the morning, to watch a hot air
balloon. What
a thrill it
would be to see from far above, to gaze upon the
mountains and the area around Pike’s Peak from an elevated viewpoint. It
reminded
me of the need to stay in the Word so that I can get glimpses of things
from
God’s perspective. The bigger
picture
of His plan and His sovereignty are within reach as I spend time in the
place
of prayer. Maybe I’ll pretend
that
place is the basket of a hot air balloon in my next time with Him.
"Forever, O Lord, Thy Word is settled in
heaven. Thy faithfulness continues
throughout all generations; thou didst
establish the earth, and it stands.”
(Psalm 119:89-90)
