Zachary took a surprise trip
to San Francisco for Memorial Day Weekend and we were able to spend 3 days
with him! We built some new memories,
From watching movies to hanging out in the city........
Hanging out at the big Virgin Records
Store......
We walked from downtown to Fisherman's Warf.....
Clam Chowder in a Breadbowl.....one of our favorite San Fran Activities!!.....
We went to a Giants Baseball Game, they beat the Colorado Rockies,
And we had a hotdog and sang "Take Me out to the Ballgame". Wonderful
view from up where the flags flop in the wind~!
Riding the subway back to the hotel was a fun experience!
We drove to the Elk preserve on Point Rayes and did some hiking
the next day......
Can you see the elk that we are looking at? A BUNCH of them all over
the hillsides.
Out to eat at Red Robin and enjoying Zach's new book.
Below is the sunrise that I watched on Memorial Day, the morning that Zach's
flight was to leave. I was reading Psalm 29, being the 29th of May.
Zach came and plopped down next to me and we read some of it together.
Right as he sat down the sunshine broke through, perfect timing, symbolic
of the bright rays of joy God brought to our hearts through our time with
Zach over the weekend.
"The voice of the Lord strikes with flashes of lightning. The voice
of the Lord shakes the desert; The Lord shakes the Desert of Kadesh.
The voice of the Lord twists the oaks and strips the forests bare.
And in his temple all cry, 'Glory!' The Lord sits enthroned over
the flood; the Lord is enthroned as King forever. The Lord gives
strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace."
We prayed for God's guiding, strengthening and peace-building voice to continue
in Zach's life, like the rays of sunshine that broke through as we sat together,
no matter what clouds may appear on the horizon!
Waiting for the departing flight on Memorial Day morning.......
