  Rock

  I’m thinking today about Psalm 28, a Psalm that David wrote, “I pray to you, O Lord, my rock.”  (Psalm 28:1)---rock solid truth.  I wonder what that would sound like as a song.   Jesus is our rock of protection, a solid fortress, our rock of salvation---songs HAVE been written about Jesus as the Rock.

  I grew up as Rock Music was becoming popular, you know, Elvis Presley and the Beatles.

  The Psalms are Rock music with a capital R!  Many may have been written into the heart of David as he sat on a mountainside tending a flock of sheep, looking at the stars and beautiful creation around him, maybe even sitting on a rock. 

  Here is another verse that would make a great song---1 Corinthians 10:4, “For they drank from the spiritual rock that traveled with them, and that rock was Christ.”

  Drinking living water from Christ our Rock.   That’s something to be refreshed by today!

  I love the Psalms because along with the Truth that is communicated, there is encouragement. We need encouragement in today's world. Thank You, Lord, for being that rock.
