    ------------------------------------------------

    Luke 9:23-24

Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me."

It would be easy to miss the fact that Jesus said this “to them all.”  It is a message for each of us, but also all of us. Together.

Taking up the cross includes sacrificing self for Christ and serving other people IN CHRIST. Jesus said it powerfully with his words, “Love your neighbor as yourself.”  Philippians 2:4 says, “Don't look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.”

Cooperation and collaboration with love fuels teamwork.  I love being part of a church family where there is great value in doing church as a team.

A Duke University basketball coach once said, “Two are better than one if two act as one.”  The writer of Ecclesiastes paints a powerful picture with the words, “A cord of three strands cannot be easily broken.”  (Ecc. 4:12)

When there is no selfish desire and a willingness to sacrifice my own wants, team wins a larger victory, bigger than one, to God’s glory.  Working together with and for others to expand the Kingdom of God is really good, and fun.   So I am feeling blessed today.

Our church family is super important to uis and we wouldn't want to be without them. Not having other birth family close by, makes our church family even more important and a blessing!
