    Loving God

    ~Video Version~

    -------------------------------------

I’m thinking about Exodus 20:2-3 today.  "I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me.”   That’s really an invitation to love God more than anything or anyone else.

Honestly, sometimes I can get distracted and things can clog up my relationship with God, hindering my capacity to experience the fullness of His love.

Living in the tropics, in Indonesia, we had a well with great water, but the water pressure was really bad.  It got worse and worse, the flow of water was really slowing down.  It came to the point I knew I needed to deal with it, but it was the hot season.  So I plugged the well pipe with a cap and started having water delivered until we could get it fixed.

Finally we did get the system fixed, and when we reconnected it and turned it all on, the water pressure was excellent.  However, the increased water pressure flushed out a whole bunch of tropical gunk that had built up.  With the increased water pressure all that murky stuff came flushing through the pipe.

I’m thinking that sometimes God turns up the pressure to flush out our pipes so we rid ourselves of anything become more important than HIM in our lives---so we can receive more of His love, the living water of his sustaining love.

That’s what I’m thinking about today.
