  The Dash

  Listen to the beginning words of a poem by Linda Ellis:

  I read of a man who stood to speak

  At the funeral of a friend

  He referred to the dates on the tombstone

  From the beginning...to the end

   

  He noted that first came the date of birth

  And spoke the following date with tears,

  But he said what mattered most of all

  Was the dash between those years

   

  What will your dash look like?  What message will you leave behind?  Will your dash underline YOU, or accent your life as a faithful follower of Jesus?

   

  In the words of 1 Corinthians 10:31, “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
