  Trust

  Here are some encouraging words for you today.

   

  ~Proverbs 3:5-6~

  “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. 6 Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”

   

  Trust.  With ALL your heart.  That’s not easy.

   

  I was remembering this week when we visited our kids in Baltimore, and our son Zach was teaching his son, Jack, how to swim.  At one point I remember little Jack stood trembling on the edge of the pool.  Dad was saying, “Jump.”  Jack stretched out his arms.  "Jump,"  Dad encouraged.  Jack hesitated. 

   

  The water looked deep.  He couldn't really swim yet.  But he finally jumped—not because he no longer felt feelings of fear of the water, but because he trusted his father more.  He had faith in dad.  And it was so fun for him when he took the jump!

   

  We saw it in baptisms a few weeks ago.  People did like a “faith plunge” backwards into the water, like a trust fall, showing full surrender to Jesus.    It was so inspiring.

   

  I don’t know what you are facing today, but if it requires a leap of faith, don’t be afraid to take it!
