Waymo

We had some family vacation a few weeks ago and one thing we did was to go to San Francisco. You know, the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman’s Warf, riding the cable car. One thing we noticed was these cars with what looked like radar beacons on top and on the sides and front and back (I learned later that the pod on top has radar and lasers with sensors and cameras). I asked my son about the cars and he said, “Yeah, Waymo. It’s like a taxi service. They will pick you up and take you wherever you want to go, and did you notice there is no driver?”
I’m not sure how I feel about that, riding in a car where there is no person in the driver’s seat. But when my son said “Waymo,” my first thought was, Waymo? I have way-more faith in Jesus being my driver. I can’t see him with my physical eyes, but I know with him as my pilot I’ll get to where I need to be.
John 14:3-5… “When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. And you know the way to where I am going." 5 "No, we don't know, Lord," Thomas said. "We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?"
He has been working on that place for several thousand years….it’s going to be AWESOME. And He is going to pick us up to take there. That’s what He said, “I will come and get you.” So that we can be with Him, the one who said in the next verse, John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”
Jesus is the way to life, not just in the future but now. He is really good at being the driver of the car of our life to keep us going in the right direction on the journey.
That is worth thinking about today….you can’t see Him with your physical eyes, but he is a great pilot if you give Him the steering wheel of your life. You can trust Him. He knows the way, He IS the Way.
